Casa Schuck

Casa Schuck is one of the best places to stay in San Miguel. Our spacious 18th century Colonial villa is just a few blocks off of the town square, in the middle of this lively town’s action. Our lovely 10 Boutique guest rooms offer a unique luxury lodging experience in one of San Miguel’s grandest Colonial homes, the Schuck House, which was restored in the late 1960s by American expatriates Gladys & Charles Schuck of Westport, Connecticut.

Location: The Schucks, who arrived in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico in 1957, were among the pioneers who invested in the building of schools, libraries and programs aimed at educational enrichment of the area’s children.

Rooms: Their home, now owned by Nancy, their daughter (and run by Susan, their granddaughter) is known for its grand guest rooms and gardens, as well as its Old World charm and unique Colonial character.

Our home is a walled compound on the hillside overlooking the city. Inside our doorway you are first greeted with a central courtyard and portico colonnade, and the sound of birds in the trees. Just up the steps is a garden, swimming pool, and the 1,500 square foot roof top sun deck that opens to sweeping views of the valley, downtown San Miguel and the mountain range in the distance

All guest rooms face our central courtyard---and our lush Jacaranda tree that shades the swimming pool and patio. All guest rooms have high beamed ceilings, dramatic French doors, and working fireplaces. Some rooms have private sun decks and balconies. All are quiet and comfortable and have king-sized bedrooms with purified water


Charlie's Room

It also features a working fireplace, 14 foot beamed ceilings, and a writing desk and club chair. The bathroom has 14-foot ceilings with a tiled bathtub. Just steps away from the roof top sun deck; this room has easy access to the garden, the lower courtyard, and the dining room and card room, where Satellite TV and VCR are located.

Escondido Room

The Yellow room is warm, cozy and unique. Located on the main level of the lower house, it is just steps across the courtyard from the dining room, the card room, and the living room, and is the best option for those requiring no stairs
The bathroom features both a tiled bath tub, along with a double sized dressing room. This room has two banks of French doors that look out to the courtyard, and has a working fireplace. There is a guest refreshment bar just outside your door

Birds gather in the Jacaranda tree in our central courtyard and sing each day outside this room, which overlooks downtown San Miguel and the mountain range to the west. Located at the highest point in the upper house, this cozy and romantic guest room is flooded with sun light throughout the day.
Guests like this room for its privacy and its unique personality, its dark red dИcor, and the view across the valley. The bathroom has carved doors and a grand tiled bathtub and shower
Just outside the bathroom is a private sun deck with loungers for a totally private space to relax, exercise or get a massage at sunset. This room has a working fireplace, 14 foot beamed ceilings and a balcony that looks out to the courtyard.

The Library suite is on the main level of the upper house and looks out to our central courtyard garden through a double bank of French doors. Its name comes from the hundreds of books that line its shelves, and for its cozy sitting area in front of the fireplace for reading.
The Library features a working fireplace, 14 foot beamed ceilings, and a deluxe tiled bathroom with tub. This room has easy access to the swimming pool, located just steps outside the door, as well as the rooftop sun deck just across the garden

Rose Room
